Happy New Year from all of us at Uniglobe Travel

Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada has had travel restrictions and border measures in place to reduce the risk of importing the virus and its variants that cause COVID-19.  As the situation evolves, so will the Government of Canada’s response and advice.

Travelling during a pandemic is risky and your trip could end up very differently from what you had anticipated. Travel restrictions and requirements—in Canada or at your destination—can change at a moment’s notice and you should not depend on the Government of Canada for assistance to change your travel plans or help you return to Canada if flight availability changes, that's where your expert Uniglobe Travel Advisor comes into play.

If you decide to travel, let Uniglobe Travel assist you in making sure you travel safe including the correct travel insurance coverage should you become infected with COVID-19 and how a global travel advisory to avoid non-essential travel affects your coverage.  We are here to help you manage your bookings to ensure a safe trip.

Register for your mandatory arrival test before you travel

The Government of Canada has introduced mandatory arrival COVID-19 testing for all travellers who have been in any country (other than the United States) in the 14 days prior to entry to Canada.

Register now with the testing provider for your on-arrival COVID-19 molecular test to save time at the airport.

The Government of Canada recommends that you register for your on-arrival test with the same email address that you use with your ArriveCAN account.

Select the testing provider from the list below based on the first airport you arrive at in Canada.

Plaza Premium Lounge has announced the opening of two new lounges at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport

Landmark Lounge

Located in Terminal 3, International, the Landmark Lounge serves outgoing international and transit travellers.

With over 300 seats and 11,948 of square feet, Landmark offers a spacious environment, with communal and private seating arrangements and a panoramic view of the tarmac.

Elevated food and beverage options include local and organic food servicing a variety of diets from vegan to meat-lovers from the live kitchen. The ‘aerobar’ offers premium drinks and champagne, with the convenience of contactless ordering.

Landmark also offers a kids play area and nursing room, and a wellness spa offering massages and manicures, complete with showering stations.

In addition, Landmark presents Lounge to Go, allowing guests the opportunity to take premium food options with them as they travel.

The Landmark Lounge is open from 15:00 – 23:00 daily. Walk in entry is available for all travellers regardless of their airline provider or ticket class starting at $50 and via select credit cards including American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

Concept Lounge

The Concept Lounge serves travellers departing from Terminal 1 with a location pre-security at departures level 3. The Concept Lounge is open from 5:30 – 20:30 daily.

This new lounge will serve Terminal 1 travellers while the existing post-security Plaza Premium Lounge undergoes updates. Since the Concept Lounge is located before security it provides an opportunity for family or guests who are not travelling to spend time with loved ones before their journey.

Each guest of the Concept Lounge receives a ‘Fast Track’ card that should speed their journey through the security process.

In addition to unlimited food, beverages and premium hot drinks, the lounge offers guests free Wi-Fi and a clean and safe space to unwind, charge phones or laptops, spend time with family or simply work. Premium alcoholic beverages are also available with upgrades.

The food and beverage experience is focused on wellness, with choices including a make-your-own Buddha Bowl, vegan dishes and fresh mint and cucumber infused beverages.
